Langley Haven Dementia Care Home sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, just off the A4 in Langley, Slough, Berkshire. Rambler Lane consists of large detached properties.
The M4 and Slough railway station and bus terminal are all just 11/2 miles away, providing easy access to the area.
The Home
The new owners of Langley Haven Dementia Care Home have invested £600,000 since they purchased the property in February 2012.
The money has been spent on re-decorating and improving all 23 resident’s rooms; all communal lounges are now bright and well-furnished and create a pleasing and comfortable environment and an extension retains the smart mock Tudor styling of the building.
Both front and back gardens have been extensively renovate, including a large car park for visitors to the Home
Care
We offer a full range of facilities and services with 24 hour care provided by our well trained staff.
Most of the staff have National Vocational Qualifications and all undertake training and career development to comply with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and to enable them to understand and assist the people who live here. Training is paramount in the care home and all staff attend mandatory training.
An induction Period follows and, careers work as an 'extra' member of the team, until they have the necessary skills to work independently, under the general supervision of a Senior Career.
Following induction, training is continuous and is regularly assessed by the Manager and Senior Career. Evidence of training is recorded and held in individual files. Our staff are friendly and dedicated, and all possess the necessary skills to deliver the required care to residents. A member of staff will be nominated as a Key Worker to a resident on admission.
We have visiting professionals such as Doctors, Nurses, District Nurses and Chiropodist.
Dining
Following the refurbishment dining has been improved and food is now served straight from the kitchen to the comfortable dining area. All food is cooked in the home. We have 4 weekly 'rotating' menus, which are different for summer and winter.
We are able to cater for special diets and often provide pureed food for people who have difficulty managing normally prepared food. We are always happy to provide hot drinks throughout the day.
Activities
Activities throughout the year include Events throughout the year include BBQ lunch in summer, Bonfire Lunch, pumpkin carving during Halloween, carol singing by local primary schools, monthly church service, celebrating residents' birthdays and residents Christmas party.
Every week we have a visit from a hairdresser.
Management Team
Our management team is made up by our Registered Manager, Head of Care, and full time Administrator. All have a depth of experience and their roles receive regular support from their Directors.
